THE
DONOR EGG PROGRAM
The use of donor eggs via assisted reproductive technology occurred in
1983. This was the first time a woman delivered a baby conceived from
a donor egg (also known as donor oocyte). Medical advances are providing
infertile couples a chance to conceive a child that is genetically related.
This treatment offers the opportunity for the donor egg after fertilization
to be transferred to the recipient mother or a gestational carrier. This
option gives the intended parent or parents a child with a genetic link.
There may be many
reasons why a woman chooses to use donor egg:
- Women with advanced
maternal age ~ greater than 42 years (up to the age of 50 at our Center).
- Women with premature
menopause.
- Women with elevated
day 3 FSH levels, rendering incapable of producing multiple eggs for
infertility treatments using their own eggs.
- Women who have
demonstrated poor embryo quality when using their own eggs for IVF.
- Women who have
failed multiple IVF treatments using their own
eggs.
- Women whose ovaries
have been surgically removed, or have been exposed to radiation or chemotherapy.
- Women who are carriers
of genetic disease.
At the Muasher Center,
we want you to feel you have some control in this aspect of your cycle.
Our staff will select a donor or donors that best suit your physical features. You will be given an opportunity to review baby photographs,
a health and social assessment as well as listen to an audio interview
with the donor, which will help YOU select a quality match.
We continuously screen and accept donors into our program. Due to our
high standards, we are dedicated to accepting only the best donors. Our
Donor Egg program is anonymous and confidential. Our staff has extensive
experience in all aspects of the program.

and abroad on ovarian stimulation for IVF. He holds academic appointments
in several distinguished medical schools. Dr. Muasher performs all the
procedures at the Center, from consultations to ultrasounds, from egg
retrieval to embryo transfer. The one-on-one relationships that he establishes
with each patient translate to the best possible care delivered by the
best possible hands.

the privacy of our donors by not placing profiles on our site. Only
recipients view the appropriate profiles in privacy with the guidance

regional donors, which eliminates additional out of pocket travel expenses.
The donor egg program
is one of the most successful treatments in infertility and in-vitro fertilization.
Success rates can be expected to be greater than 60% in terms of clinical
pregnancies. The primary reason is that the eggs are collected from young
donors (ages 21-32) who are carefully screened and selected in order to
assure a safe and successful treatment process.
Our staff manages
both sides of donor egg's complex process. This provides for a more intimate
and effective communication process throughout a recipient's cycle. This
level of involvement by our center ensures a positive experience for our
recipients as well as our donors.
You will find a warm
and caring environment that will walk you through everything from start
to finish. That is our commitment to you. You will see the same faces
throughout your cycle. We will always be here to answer your questions.
We are here for you.
