Fairfax, VA – Suheil J. Muasher, MD, FACOG Medical Director of The Muasher Center for Fertility and IVF has been appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In this role, Dr. Muasher, an internationally known fertility expert, will teach and guide residents and reproductive endocrinology fellows in the art and science of reproductive medicine and infertility through tutorial lectures and participation in academic and teaching meetings. "We are thrilled to have Dr. Muasher in our Reproductive Endocrinology division as a part-time faculty and very much appreciate his academic contribution to our specialty. We look forward to our future collaborative efforts," stated Howard A. Zacur, MD, PhD, Director, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Johns Hopkins University.
Howard W. Jones, Jr., MD, Professor Emeritus, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors the Jones Institute Foundation said, "This is recognition by one of our leading institutions of the work of Suheil Muasher in the field of Reproductive Medicine". Dr. Jones pioneered the first in vitro fertilization baby in the United States in 1981. Dr. Muasher has been working closely with Dr. Jones since 1986.
Dr. Muasher, who trained at Johns Hopkins University in the late 1970's, said, "The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Johns Hopkins University has had a long standing tradition of excellence and the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and its faculty, is highly reputable and considered one of the best in the country. I feel proud, deeply honored and privileged that I am associated with them."
